Estelle has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism from Deakin University and is a professional member of Public Relations Institute of Australia (PRIA), a professional member of the Australian Institute of Management WA (AIMWA), a professional member of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Western Australia (CCI), a founding member AIMWA's Emerging Leaders Committee and currently sits on the Board of Directors for Playgroup WA.

Beginning her career as a journalist in the Pilbara, Estelle has since acquired more than a decade of public relations experience in a senior management position.

Since arriving in Perth in 2004, Estelle worked for numerous companies across a variety of industries. While employed as a consultant with Porter Novelli she provided investor, community and media relations support to mining, export, biotechnology and telecommunications companies to name a few.

Prior to establishing Buzz Corporate Communications in 2006, Estelle was employed as Communications Manager of The University Club of Western Australia to develop and manage all internal and external communications, as well as oversee Club events, promotions, advertising and sponsorship.

In the final year of her degree, Estelle was employed by THQ Inc, a leading US developer and publisher of interactive video games. During her four-year tenure as the PR and Promotions Manager - Asia Pacific, Estelle coordinated all of THQ's media, government, consumer, internal and stakeholder relations in the region. In addition, she managed THQ's events and sponsorship, promoting a diverse portfolio of licensed products including Disney/Pixar, World Wrestling Entertainment, Britney Brands Inc and Nickelodeon.

Claire has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Public Relations and English from Edith Cowan University and is a professional member of Public Relations Institute of Australia (PRIA). Claire has a broad range of experience in corporate communications derived from 14 years experience in the field. 

Claire has worked for both public and private companies in the areas of media and community liaison, events management, issues management, investor relations and corporate marketing and promotions.  Her background includes working as an in-house public relations professional for both Alcoa of Australia and Austal Limited, in addition to consulting for a diverse range of clients in the resources, manufacturing, property, government, health and biotechnology sectors.

Past and present corporate clients include Alcoa of Australia, Rio Tinto, BHP Billiton Iron Ore, Public Transport Authority of Western Australia, Austal Ships, Aspen Property Group, Westate Property Group, The Griffin Group, Telstra, Clinical Cell Culture, Otto Energy, Interiors Australia, Heart Foundation, Newman College, Multiplex, and Western Australian Football Commission.

In 2008, Claire established Liris Communications and provides freelance public relations consulting services to a broad range of clients including BHP Billiton Iron Ore, Public Transport Authority of Western Australia, Petcare Information and Advisory Service, Sizer Modular and AMN Corporate - a specialist investor and public relations firm.

Jan Virgo, Senior Consultant [Back to top]

Jan Virgo has a Bachelor of Arts (Public Relations) and an Associate Diploma of Business (PR) from RMIT University and has worked in the PR and communications field for the past 14 years.

Before making the move to consultancy-based work, Jan spent three years with BHP Billiton Iron Ore as Internal Communications Advisor, where she had a particular focus on managing internal publications, and providing communications support to business wide projects through employee engagement and change management strategies.

Past roles have included managing rural and regional media, investor, government, and community issues as PR Advisor for agribusiness Great Southern Limited, which followed a contract position with Western Power as Corporate Affairs Advisor.

Before making the move to WA in 2004, Jan worked in the Public Affairs team at TXU Energy (now Singapore Power), and gained valuable public sector experience through corporate communications roles with the Victorian State Government's Department of Human Services, and Department of Natural Resources and Energy.

She commenced her career in Melbourne as a Promotions Coordinator with Penguin Books Australia, working with high profile authors and media on publicity and events to promote new titles.

Jan joined the Buzz team in 2012.

Maya Kavanagh, Consultant [Back to top]


Maya Kavanagh began her film career at just 17 working as a production assistant on the feature film Crush made in 2009. Fast forward 5 years and Maya has worked on a number of productions ranging from short films to tele-movies to features.

Her latest roles include Production Manager of the MIFF award winning and Cannes selected short film Kin; Production Manager of the feature film Foreshadow; and Production Manager of the short film Tango Underpants.

As well as this, she has developed a range of skill sets to manage and admin digital media campaigns and projects for both film and other industries.

Meg completed a Bachelor of Arts (Film and Television) in 2009 at Curtin University. Since then, Meg has been on many a film set in Perth as her interest was predominately sound recording.

She moved into working more behind the scenes and in the production office. Most recently, Meg was Production Co-ordinator on the film Foreshadow (feature film, 88 min 2013) and also as the Production Assistant on the film Tango Underpants (short film, 13 min 2013).

Meg's skills other than roles on a film production, include database management, website maintenance, film research and film festival planning.

Anton Cleaver-Wilkinson, Consultant [Back to top]

Anton has a Certificate in Information Technology from Pilbara TAFE and, during his final year at Aquinas College, was selected for Curtin University’s Information Systems Student Experience Program (ISSE). He successfully completed this internship whilst simultaneously scoring a TER score of 91.9.

Anton is Buzz’s specialist in information and communications technology within business operations and business information systems. He is skilled in HTML, CSS, PHP and Javascript programming languages. Anton also possesses exceptional written and verbal communications skills.
